The lamp only turns on when plugged in directly to the power supply requiring plugging and unplugging the device to turn it on and off. The switch modules and battery packs are defective (Smokes). Illumination with cross-polarized light and filtered lenses removes surface glare from the skin increasing visualization of subsurface features (~1mm depth) such as vascular and pigmented lesions, hair follicles and carbonization Typical light source lifetime is over 400 hours
