Palomar Starlux 300/500 Lux Rs/Ys IPL Light Guide Sapphire Crystal - 12x28mm These Lux Ys/Rs crystals are made completely solid with no holes. Some light guides are made with small holes drilled partially into the sides. These holes absorb energy as the handpiece is used and they eventually become burnt, obscuring light transmission. This leads to a drop in the fluence delivered by the handpiece, requiring crystal replacement.
